Graveyard shift

Monday night.. On my way to work. Tonight is my 1st graveyard shift. Im working from 2200 – 0800. Its a weird feeling – going to work at night. Very weird. But its kinda exciting as well. Its gonna be a RedBull night..

MyGorgeous spent saturday with me and my mom. She just keeps on getting cuter and cuter. And im glad my mom gets to spend time with her too:)

Tomorrow when everyone is working i’l be sleeping.. Nice!

Traffic jam in Beijing

This working thing really interferes with my blogging and online life.. Hahaha!

I was gonna write about how bad the traffic is when i drive to work but then i heard a story on the news earlier this week. There is a traffic jam that started on the 14th of August that stretches a 100km between beijing and tibet. Cars and trucks were stuck on this piece of road for 10 days! People from villages next to the road was selling water and noodles to the people..

So the traffic i go through is not really that bad:) Its not my idea of fun but it could be worse.

At work im still training.. But i know alot more than i did. I will probably start the graveyard shift this week or next week.

A R155.00 burger

I spent last night at the hotel. Not because i wanted to but because i had to. I’ve stayed in too many hotels for it to be a treat. But all management have spend a night there as part of their induction. It is for the employee and a partner.
So there i was alone in a R4000 a night room.. Alone.. Yip – all on my own.
I like being alone. Iv always been a loner, so it was cool to have some private time. In bed watching tv. Nice!

I ordered a R155.00 hamburger. I dont think any burger can or should be worth that much. Its till not better than the R80.00 burgers sold by Ed’s Diner at the Woodlands Boulevard in Morelettapark.

Job – one week in

Today is my one week anniversary at my new job and i still like the place. Alot! Seems like im actually working there for real!!

I got my contract… The company is forcing the employees to take a specific medical aid and there is a minimum amount you have to pay towards the provident fund. It is a little heavy on the pocket but at least you have the best medical aid available and you make provision for your retirement. In the long run its a good thing. But its not so nice on the pocket in the short term.
So.. After tax and the other stuff and petrol i make only a little more than i made while working at the crappy pizza store! Hahaha! At least i’m sure of being promoted sometime, and im getting an increase in April next year:)

The most important thing at the moment is to get reliable wheels. The old Jetta is doing around 120km a day.. And its a tired car.

They are busy putting up toll road gadgets over the R21 and will start charging 50c per kilometre soon. Soon i’l be using the back roads along with many many other people and the bike will help in that traffic.

Getting fat!

Ok i decided to do this blog thing a little different from now. Each post must have at least one photo included.
I dont want to waste bandwidth and stuff so the photo’s will be small – internet in SA doesnt grow on trees.. It’l be screenshots of the actual photo. Its not like i want to enter photo competitions with it.

Today i saw the Gautrain for the 1st time.. I built it up in my mind and expected a bit more. It didnt glow and there was no strong wind or symphony music playing when it appeared. It was a just normal. Boring.

And i weighed myself.. Yikes! I need to loose weight! Starting monday im training again. Iv never been this unfit. 3yrs back i had a sixpack from kickboxing. Got a picture of it somewhere.. Hahaha!

Tomorrow the induction at work continues – i still dig the company. The traffic not so much..
